Hart Lambur, co-founder of Across Protocol, proposed to permanently limit the supply of the ACX token to 1 billion and to relinquish Across Governance's ownership of the ACX token. Previously, Bryan Pellegrino, CEO of LayerZero Labs, criticized the Across token contract for having issues, but the community believes this is more of a transparency problem. Pellegrino suggested transferring ownership to an immutable smart contract to prevent the minting of tokens beyond the total supply, disallowing destruction, and preventing ownership transfer. Currently, this proposal is undergoing a temperature check vote, with 99.5% in favor of setting the supply cap.
